Inaugurated on December 29, 1956, this edifice which has since been a vital symbol of Catholicism in this part of the land, now celebrates 50 years. Below is the view of the Church rooftop.
"Mision de Quiangan" - Spanish Era
Fr. JUAN Fernandez VILLAVERDE, O.P. (1841-1897), one of the earliest missionaries who established Mision de Quiangan but met with differing struggles like opposition of natives to foreigners, outbreak of malaria, and his own old age. He was here in 1868-1871; in Ibung (the site of the exiled mission) 1873-1880; back to Kiangan in 1884-1886 when he constructed the "Camino del Quiangan," the very first good roads leading to this place.
Fr. Jerome Moerman, CICM (1910-1958)
Although several priests had been to Kiangan since 1801, Fr. Moerman stayed the longest and contributed the most.
